PE and School Sport

At Overseal Primary, we aim to provide the opportunity for our children to safely experience a range of sporting activities.

Through well-planned, high quality PE and sports teaching both in the curriculum and in after school clubs, we seek to ensure that all children enjoy PE and believe that everyone can achieve and experience success. Curriculum experiences are enhanced by working alongside experienced coaches. Additionally, all children have access to our Forest School area where they can develop their communication, resilience, orienteering and teamwork skills. 

We understand and value the benefits of PE and sport to build self-confidence and esteem in our children and promote sustainable healthy, active lifestyles. We are working with practitioners from school health to gain the Healthy Schools Community Award.

We aim to ensure all children experience competition at some level individually or in a team. We are very proud to have been awarded the School Sports Gold Award for the fourth year running in recognition of this work.
