They are chosen by teachers because they:

Get excited by reading

Choose to read when they are at home

Choose and complete books

Try out new genres

Look after books

Enjoy talking about books

Can recommend books and talk about authors 

Read, read, read

Special Responsibilities:

Formula One Readers:

Help decide on new books to order for school.

Collect First News newspapers from the office and take to classrooms. 

Stamp Reading Race entries for their class.

Look after the books in their own classroom by organisng and displaying books attractively.

Look after the library

Start 'book chat' in their class

Recommend books

Special Privilages just for Formula One Readers

Only 2 per class are chosen.

They will have a photograph in the class so everyone knows they are Formula One Readers.

A book cafe open just to them

Order a book of their choice for the class. 

First chance to read new books they have chosen!
