This year we are going to have so much fun and learn so many new things. What an adventure we will have together!

Our Curriculum:

Within the Early Years Foundation Stage, learning concentrates on seven areas.

These are split between prime and specific areas of learning.

The prime areas of learning are:

* Personal, Social and Emotional Development

* Physical Development

* Communication and Language

The specific areas of learning are:

* Literacy

* Mathematics

* Understanding the World

* Expressive Arts and Design

Each of these areas is implemented through planned and purposeful play, a mix of adult-led and child-initiated activities. The children experience an exciting curriculum, both indoors and outdoors. The curriculum is creative and play-based and challenges each child to achieve their individual potential. Children are encouraged to become independent and active learners through effective teaching and learning opportunities. Active learning and creative thinking are critical to each child’s development. We ensure that there is a balance of creative adult initiated activities, opportunities and resources for your child to initiate their own learning both indoors and outdoors. This inspires them to gain a curiosity of the world around them, develop their social skills and be motivated to try new activities.

WOW Moments - We encourage parents to share the achievements of their child out of school using the WOW moment slips. Wow moment slips are kept in our special, golden  basket on the classroom door ready for you to take as you wish to. If you then hand them to a teacher in the morning we will then share that achievement in class with their friends. Children enjoy receiving the praise and recognition of their success from their peers and teachers. We can also use wow moments to add to our assessments of your child's progress in different areas of the curriculum.

Butterfly Blog!  - We send home a weekly newsletter to let you know what we have been learning about each week. We also include notes and reminders of upcoming events and activities.
