Bear counting to 5 or 10 game. The children really enjoyed playing this game during our Goldilocks week. Encourage your child at home to drag the cakes onto the Bear's tummy and count as they move the cake. Can they recognise how many cakes the bear wants to eat each time? Recognising numbers to 5 then 10 is one of the key statements from Development Matters, the curriculum we work on.
Higher or lower gameThe children enjoyed playing this game Halloween week. Play it with your child and ask them questions like: Will the next number be more than 6? Will the next number be less than 8? A number line or a set of objects will help reinforce the concept of more than or less than.
Adding BeesCount the bees on each flower and reveal the numbers beneath to see if you were right. Then ask how many are there altogether? Use the language of adding 3+4= Then reveal the answer. You have to hide the numbers again before you select the next set of numbers by clicking on 1-5 or 1-10 , if your child is doing super well with 1-5.
