Hello Year 4!

Welcome to our class page!

This is where you will be able to find important information for our class and have a look at some of the things we have been up to in Year 4.

If you need to get in touch then please email year.4@overseal.derbyshire.sch.uk

Things to Remember

Please make sure you have your water bottle in school.

Remember to bring your reading book and diary in every day.

Please come to school in your PE kit. Make sure long hair is tied back and jewellery is removed or covered. Remember that PE kit needs to be appropriate; Mrs Hughes has sent out a lot of information about this recently.

We have music lessons on Mondays. We are very lucky to be able to learn a musical instrument in Year 4. Later in the term, you will take your instrument home (with parental permission) but you must remember your instrument every week. It is also important to try and practise at home where possible.

We will check your reading diaries to see if you have read three times each week. If you have, you will get a stamp for the Reading Race. It is really important to make sure you are reading to an adult at home regularly.

We will have our weekly spelling test on a Monday. Please make sure your spelling homework book comes into school on a Monday too. The full list of spellings for this term can be found here:

Homework will be set on a Friday and needs to be in by Wednesday. If you need help with your homework, please let us know on Monday or Tuesday and we will be happy to help. If you leave it until Wednesday, we won't be able to help you before it's due in.

On Wednesdays, we will be completing our times tables clubs. Times tables are crucial in Year 4 as we will have our Times Table check at the end of the year. Please make sure you are practising your times tables at home regularly. Times Tables Rockstars is a great, interactive way to practise those important multiplication and division facts.

Please come to school in your PE kit.

Please come to school in your Forest School kit.
