This year in Literacy we will be looking at a range of texts and genres.  These will include: newspaper reports on current issues, such as the civil war in Syria; biographies of influential people, such as Charles Darwin and the scientist Mary Anning and stories by a range of authors, including Anthony Horrowitz and Anne Evans.

 

To be a secure Year 6 writer, we will be focusing on the following key areas and skills:

• Spelling  - please remember to learn your spellings each week!
• Handwriting and presentation - keep your writing joined and sitting on the line!
• Composition - plan, draft, edit and re-write!
• Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation
