In this unit, we will build on our knowledge and understanding of different systems within the body. We will research the parts and functions of the circulatory system, focus on how nutrients are transported around the human body and explore how a healthy lifestyle supports the body to function. We will also consider how different types of drugs affect the body.

 

Objectives covered:

• I can identify and name the main parts of the human circulatory system, and describe the functions of the heart, blood vessels and blood.
• I can recognise the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way the body functions.
• I can describe the ways in which nutrients and water are transported within animals, including humans.
