The School Day

Overseal Primary School Day:

  • All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enter school through the top infant gate (along the path to the right of the main entrance).
  • In the juniors, all children in Years 3 to 6 go in via the driveway gate and then use the existing doors (Year 3 and 4 line up in front of the hall doors, Year 5 and 6 walk up the driveway).
  • Infant children are collected at the end of the day from the school playground.
  • Years 3 and 4 are dismissed from the hall doors on front of school, onto the garden.

The start of the school day

There are always plenty of staff outside of school to greet children positively each morning as we aim to create a happy school at Overseal. After arriving at school, pupils should go immediately to their class, so they are ready for the register to be taken. Pupils arriving after registration are recorded as being late and all lateness is monitored. Please see the school’s Pupil Attendance Policy for further details.

We continually monitor attendance at school and strive for consistently ‘good’ or excellent attendance at 96% or above as we know this helps children achieve.
