One page profiles - At Overseal Primary School, those children who need support more than 'reasonable adjustments' have a one-page profile. This collates information from parents, pupil voice, school staff and other professionals. The purpose of a one-page profile is to monitor and outline the best way to support the pupil.
IEP - Further to this, if a pupil is more than 2 years below age expectations they will have academic targets on an Individual Education Plan (IEP). On the plan teachers will identify gaps in the learning and set achievable goals for the term. These plans are assessed and reviewed termly.
Inclusion funding - Currently, as part of the Derbyshire local offer we have access to inclusion funding. This is a small budget that can be allocated to a pupil who needs short term funding to support them in school. To access this funding pupils must be having interventions that surpass £6000 a year and are significantly behind their peers.
EHCP - An Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) can be put in place to support the young person with special educational needs (SEN) if their educational setting feels they don’t have the resources best required to support them. The EHC plan will identify your child’s particular needs, and set out what additional support should be put in place to meet those needs. An EHC plan can stay in place until the young person reaches the age of 25 is they remain in education. Compass Changing Lives - We are currently working with Compass Changing Lives to deliver a comprehensive wellbeing curriculum and interventions to our pupils. The service have supported the school by delivering assemblies, transition support, parent coffee mornings, class workshops and staff training. Parents and professionals can refer pupils into the service for specific support with mental health and wellbeing. They will asses and signpost families to the best support.
