Computing and Online Safety

"In an increasingly digital world, we believe it is essential that all pupils are equipped with the knowledge and skills to become responsible, safe, and skilled users of technology, both now and in the future."

Our intent is to ensure that all children:

  • Develop digital literacy and can use technology purposefully and safely in everyday life.
  • Gain a secure understanding of the fundamentals of computer science, including algorithms, programming, and logical reasoning.
  • Use information technology to create, store, organise, and present digital content across a range of devices and programs.
  • Understand how to stay safe online and use digital systems responsibly, following key principles of online safety, privacy, and respectful communication.
  • Experience practical, engaging, and age-appropriate computing lessons, which build progressively from EYFS to Year 6.
  • Apply computing skills across the curriculum, supporting learning in subjects such as mathematics, science, art, and literacy.

Through our computing curriculum, we aim to foster independent learners, confident digital citizens, and future-ready problem solvers. We want our pupils to feel empowered to explore technology creatively, understand how it shapes the world around them, and be prepared for the demands of the modern, digital age.
