This term, we will be looking at a range of stories by Roald Dahl and investigating his role as a significant author. We will be using his stories to inspire our own writing and linking different stories to different text types, including instructions. Linking to our Rainforests topic, we will be writing recounts and reports. Later in the term, we will be finding out about stories from other cultures. This year, we will be looking at Brazilian folk tales to make cross-curricular links with our Geography work. Towards the end of the term, we will be looking at cinquain poetry.

 

Our main class book this term is 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell.
