Year 4 have a fun Autumn term of Literacy...

 

During the first half term of Autumn term, we will be focusing on stories set in imaginary worlds.  We will mostly focus on The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Alice in Wonderland. We will be developing our setting descriptions during this topic and having a go at writing some of our own stories set in imaginary worlds!

We are then going to combine our literacy work with our Romans topic and look at some stories set in Roman times. We will also be developing our character descriptions and writing our own Roman themed stories.

Our non-fiction writing this half term is based around explanation texts. 

 

During Autumn 2, we are going to be looking at a story by Michael Morpurgo called 'I Believe in Unicorns' and then use this to move onto help us to write non-chronological reports about unicorns. 

After this, we will focus on Newspapers and will hold our own interviews to write our very own newspaper reports!
