Science

Our first science topic is 'Living Things and their Habitats' where we will focus on sorting and grouping plants and animals. We will go on an inset hunt to discover micro-habitats within the school grounds and we will also be finding out about how humans impact different habitats, and the problems that deforestation causes.

We will then move onto looking at 'States of Matter' during Autumn 2.  We are going to find out about solids, liquids and gases. We will also be carrying out an experiment, as well as finding out about the water cycle.

During Spring Term, our topic is Animals, including Humans where we will be finding out about the digestive system, different types of teeth and looking at food chains.

Finally, in Summer term, we look at two topics. The first, Electricity, is lots of fun and we create electrical circuits and find out about electrical conductors and insulators.

In our second topic, Sound, we find out about how sound is made and look in detail at how we hear sounds.
