Week 5- WC 04.05.2020

Hello, Shining Stars! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Thank you for working hard last week - you really are shining! I am looking forward to reading your work again this week.

Please note as of this week I will be also setting some tasks on Purple Mash. Please do not feel like you have to do the Purple Mash and the literacy Oak Academy lesson! I am providing both as I know some children prefer the purple mash lessons!

Don't forget, Friday is a Bank Holiday - so no work!

Make sure you have fun and relax!

Maths

We all agree that it’s really important that you are as well-prepared as possible for your next school year. To help make this happen, White Rose Maths and the BBC have joined forces!  They’ve created a learning plan which means that you will have the opportunity to:

  • understand the main concepts you need for your work next year
  • cover any new learning that you haven’t yet done in school

Not only will you have White Rose slides to help you learn the content of the lesson, but the BBC maths lessons for the day will match!  This means you can use the White Rose slides and the information on the BBC Bitesize website.

Every day, there will be a learning video on the White Rose web page to watch and a link to that day’s BBC Bitesize page for more information and even more lesson content.

Each day, please can you:

  • Read for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Practise your weekly spellings. (called, came, come, can, could)
  • Practise your 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
  • Do 30-60 minutes of exercise (follow the PE link for ideas).
  • Complete the maths and literacy tasks.
  • Complete the topic task.

Oxford Owl Reading

Click on the 'Reading Books' link on the main class page to find out how you can continue to read through the Oxford Owl reading scheme.

PE with Derbyshire School Games

The School Games Organiser network and Active Derbyshire are working together to create and publish a weekly programme of activities to help children, just like you, to keep active whilst schools are closed and we are having to stay at home.

This week, they have created a series of activities around 'FOOTBALL'!

Open the document below to find a daily activity and lots of tips and guidance on how to do it. There's a bit of a quiz to get you started, then each day, you'll find a challenge. If you keep scrolling down, you'll find instructions and helpful diagrams to show you what to do.

Why not involve your family? You can all keep active and learn how to play football!
