Week 4 (beginning 27.4.20)

Welcome back Year 4!

Thank you for sending me the work you've been doing, we had such a great start back last week and I can't wait to see what this week brings! Well done for all your hard work and effort! I hope you've had a good weekend and you're feeling ready for a new week of learning!

Gratitude Scavenger Hunt Blog

Hello, Year 4.  I have created a new blog for us on Purple Mash. This one is all about how we can find positives in everyday life while we are still on lockdown. I'm sure that between us we have lots of things we are grateful for and things we appreciate while being at home.

You can add to the blog anytime this week but on Friday you will be posting on the blog in a style of your choice. I will be completing the scavenger hunt too so look out for my Gratitude list! Don’t forget, to access the blog, just click on the sharing icon at the top of the Purple Mash home page with the green globe icon.

Simply add a blog post with as little or as many answers as you can find for the 20 things to be grateful for...

I have put a document version of the Gratitude Hunt below

As you may have seen, I've been reading 'SLIME', David Walliams' new book and I thought I'd share it with you, just as if we were in the classroom at the end of the day reading a book together. I figured if I started it now, with any luck we might be able to finish it back in the classroom when we are back together again!

You will find a new chapter being read by me each day on each day's page.

Enjoy!

Miss Rogers

As usual, everyday please can you:

- Practise your times tables for 10 to 15 minutes on Times Tables Rock Stars or Purple Mash.

- Do 30-60 minutes of exercise (follow the PE link for ideas)

- Complete the Maths and Literacy tasks.

- Complete about 60 minutes of your topic work.

Music Opportunities

Below, I have attached some ideas that Clair has sent through to keep your musical mind busy! There may be more to come but for now here are two tasks for you to keep practising songs and skills you were using!

PE with Derbyshire School Games

The School Games Organiser network and Active Derbyshire are working together to create and publish a weekly programme of activities to help children, just like you, to keep active whilst schools are closed and we are having to stay at home.

This week, they have created a series of activities around 'GOLF'!

Open the document below to find a daily activity and lots of tips and guidance on how to do it. There's a bit of a quiz to get you started, then each day, you'll find a challenge. If you keep scrolling down, you'll find instructions and helpful diagrams to show you what to do.

Why not involve your family? You can all keep active and learn how to play golf!

Don't forget to send photos of how you get on to year4@overseal.derbyshire.sch.uk  - it's great to see what you are all up to and how you're getting on!
