Non Chronological Report Writing


So far this week we have answered comprehension questions about a non-chronological report and we’ve considered the features, annotating a report.  Today, we’re going to be looking at how we can write a non-chronological report.

Now, watch it again, considering these questions:


  • What is needed to write a good non-chronological report?


  • What features are required? Can you remember any technical language to describe the features?


  • When writing a non-chronological report, what format should it take?


  • Create a list of the Success Criteria required to write a successful non-chronological report.


Take plenty of time over the last point – creating your Success Criteria for writing a non-chronological report – you will need this over the next few days!


I’ve attached a check-list, so make sure you do check your Success Criteria against the list I’ve given you. Add any to yours if you’ve missed a few out.


I’ve also attached a couple more non-chronological reports. Why not read them, considering their features, too. This will help prepare you for when you write your own reports over the next few days.
