Hello Year 4,

I would just like to let you know I have made a new blog ready to vote for a new book to read together. The sooner we vote for a book, the sooner I can see if I can get hold of it or purchase it. I will pick the story or author that is mentioned the most.

Head over to the blog named 'New Book Vote' to enter your choice!

Lesson 3 – Fractions of quantities

Today, as you have been used to doing, you will first need to visit the White Rose website for the video slides, and worksheets. (I’ve also put the question sheet and answer sheet below.)

Don’t forget, you can watch, pause and rewind the video as you need to.

Today in literacy, I would like you to read the next chapter of The Ickabog. In this chapter, the legend of Ickabog is discussed and the idea that many people have different ideas about what the Ickabog looks like.

Using your characters from Monday's lesson (a queen or king and their two friends/sidekicks), I would like you to create some dialogue (a conversation) between your characters about what they think the Ickabog might look like. Imagine they have heard a new story about the Ickabog and this sparks conversation and speculation about the monster's appearance and activity!

Rather than having a 2do task on purple mash, today I would like you to practise your handwriting and complete your task in your workbook or on paper. Don't forget, because you are creating dialogue, you will need to use speech marks and punctuation.

Below I will add a powerpoint to remind you of the different speech rules you must remember to use. I will also add a bordered sheet you might like to print to write your conversation on if you wish.

I would love to see your work, so feel free to send it to me at:

Today, I would like you to show me how much you have learnt so far about Henry VIII and his great matter. To do this you might like to watch the video from yesterday to remind yourself of the information you found out. You could also use information from our previous History lesson before half term (don't worry if you can't remember everything)

I will add some of the information from the video below.

You will have a 2do on purple mash where you can show me what you have remembered and learnt. If you don't want to do this on purple mash you can use the Henry VIII bordered page below (you can email me your work if you choose to do this)

You need to write in full sentences and you could include:

- How many wives Henry VIII had and what happened to them

- Who Catherine of Aragon was

- How Henry ended up marrying Catherine of Aragon

- Who Henry fell in love with whilst he was still married to Catherine

- Whose approval Henry needed in order to divorce Catherine

- Why Pope Clement VII couldn't grant Henry an immediate divorce

- Why the divorce became known as the great matter
