I've been reading 'SLIME', David Walliams' new book and I thought I'd share it with you, just as if we were in the classroom at the end of the day reading a book together. I figured if I started it now, with any luck we might be able to finish it back in the classroom when we are back together again!

You will find a new chapter being read by me each day on each day's page. Scroll down for today's introduction and chapter 1!

Click on the link below which will take you to White Rose lessons for Summer Term Lesson 2. These are the maths plans we follow in school so you will recognise the different methods and diagrams they use.

Watch the video slides and pause and rewind if you need to.

Then answer the questions from the activity sheet in your workbook.

The answers are there for you to check too!

When you scroll down, this is what your screen should look like when you get to the website.

You can either click on the links for the activity sheets and answers, or I’ve put them below, too.

(You will need to go to the website for the video, though)

Following yesterdays lesson looking at 'Mega City' about Jack and his best friend and companion Harry, I would like you to consider how Jack felt during his time busking in the streets of a busy city, where no one seemed to take much notice of him and he barely made a living each day. Think about his dreams to be in the countryside with Harry.

I would like you to write a diary entry from Jack about his feelings. I would like to understand how it felt to him every day coming back home after a day in a built up, careless city. I want to know about what he dreams of and what his goals are for the future. What are his biggest hopes? What is he looking forward to doing, if he achieves his dreams? What does he hate the most about his everyday life? What gets him through each day?

You need to write:

In first person,

With emotive language,

With descriptive vocabulary

Once again, email your work to me on a word document at:

Here is the video clip link again for you to watch to sense what Jack's feelings might be.

Our topic in Geography we started was 'Mega cities' and we began to look at the differences between a regular city and a mega city and what made a mega city appealing.

For your topic work this week, I would like you to complete some research about a mega city of your choice. There is a list on Monday's page of the possible mega cities you could find information about.

Once you have decided, you can look online or watch videos about the place you have chosen. You can then present your research in any for you'd like; this could be a poster, power point presentation, video or leaflet.

The facts you must include in your presentation are:

Where in the world is this mega city?

What is the latest recorded population of this megacity?

Does this mega city have any special places/ buildings/ famous architecture?
