Hello Year 4,

Don't forget to vote for a new book to read together. The sooner we vote for a book, the sooner I can see if I can get hold of it or purchase it. I will pick the story or author that is mentioned the most or that some of you have commented to say you'd like to read.

Head over to the blog named 'New Book Vote' to enter your choice!

Chapter Thirty

Lesson 3 – Calculate quantities

Today, as you have been used to doing, you will first need to visit the White Rose website for the video slides, and worksheets. (I’ve also put the question sheet and answer sheet below.)

Don’t forget, you can watch, pause and rewind the video as you need to.

Today, I would like you to read the next chapter from the Ickabog (Chapter three- Death of a Seamstress). The link is above.

After you have read the chapter, I would like you to write a diary entry. This diary entry is going to be from the King's point of view. You are going to express your thoughts and feelings about the events from this chapter.

You could consider:

- How would the king feel about not having his head seamstress anymore and therefore nobody to make his clothes?

- Will he have some guilt about what has happened?

- Have the words of support from Lord Spittleworth and Lord Flapoon helped in any way?

Remember a diary needs to contain the events that have happened in the correct order (chronologically) and show some emotion (thoughts and feelings). To so this, you will need to put yourself in the shoes of King Fred and imagine how he must be feeling.

You have a 2do waiting for you on purple mash named 'diary of a King'

Today for topic, you will be taking part in a music lesson. Clair, who teaches us clarinet has sent us a lesson that we can do from our homes. The document is below and has two activities that you can try.

Have fun!
