Maths – Lesson 4 - Adding decimals across the whole

White Rose Maths Hub Year 5 Home Learning

Click on the link above.

You should be used to this by now 😊

This will take you to the White Rose lessons for Summer Term 1 – these are the plans we follow in school, so you’ll be very used to the different methods and diagrams they use.

Scroll down to lesson 4. Watch the video slides – pause and rewind as you need to. Then, answer the questions on the activity sheets in your exercise book.

The answers are there for you to check, too.

This is what your screen should look like when you get to the website.

You can either click on the links for the activity sheets and answers, or I’ve put them below, too.

(You will need to go to the website for the video, though.)

The other teachers and I would really like to know how you have found using the Oak National Academy Literacy Lessons this week.

Is the website simple to use?

Are the videos and slides easy to follow?

Do the activities help you learn or revise what you already know?

It would be really helpful if you could drop me a few lines in an email and I can let the other teachers know how you have got on. Thank you!

Setting Description: Identifying the features of a text

Staying with the same theme of settings, we’re moving on to features of the text today. You’ve done lots of work over the year already on this, so this should be a doddle for you!

Click on this link: FEATURES

The main activity slide asks you to annotate a text:

We do this a lot in class – usually we use our purple pens and work in pairs to find the features of the text. You can make notes in your exercise book.

‘CVC Words’ and ‘High Frequency Words’

Start today by going to 2Type and clicking on CVC Words. Do the practise activities, then the 2Do task.

Once you’ve had a go at these, go to the High Frequency Words. I’ve only set tasks for the KS2 High Frequency Words, but you could do any of the others – as much or as little as you like!
