Subtracting decimals with the same number of places

Today, as you have been used to doing, you will first need to visit the White Rose website for the video slides, and worksheets. (I’ve also put the question sheet and answer sheet below.)

You can also visit the BBC Bitesize website for an extra video on today’s maths lesson.

The links are below:

Just a reminder – the idea is that the BBC provides further support to help you learn, you will still need to complete the White Rose question sheet, and as always, you can check your answers.

Non Chronological Report Writing

Over the course of this week, we’re going to be looking at what a non-chronological report is and how to write one of our own.

Let’s start by reading a non-chronological report and answering some questions about it.

I’ve attached a report about Tim Peake (the astronaut). There are three levels of challenge – 1 to 3 star – choose yours carefully.

Your task today is to read the questions, then read the text, then go back to answer the questions. The answers are there so you can check how you’ve done, too.

Begin to consider the features of a non-chronological report as you read through it.

On-line Safety

At school, we have many lessons where we consider how to keep ourselves safe on-line. Over the last few months, you’ve also had lots of CEOP activities aimed at helping you to stay safe on-line.

Today, you have the opportunity to show off all that you have learned.

First, complete the Password Quiz on your 2Dos on Purple Mash.

Then, your job is to create your own comic book (also a 2Do in your Purple Mash). This comic should include lots of what you know about keeping yourself safe on-line.

Aim to make it:

  • Colourful and eye-catching
  • Informative
  • Useful
  • Clear to read and understand

Have fun!
