Monday Writing: Slug and Snail Facts

This week we are learning all about snails and slugs.

Watch CBBC's Jess on a snail adventure, find out more about snails and see some up close!

What do snails eat?

Do snails lay eggs?

With your adult, look at the information on the Powerpoint and find out the answers to these questions and more fascinating facts! Remember to ask if there are any words that you don’ understand.

**Now write a fact/a few facts about snails that you found interesting.**

Things to remember to be a good writer:

  • Think about your letter formation
  • Are there any phase 3 digraphs/digraphs you can use in the words?
  • Any longer words, remember to chop them up into parts to make it easier to sound out for writing
  • Finger spaces needed between each word
  • Use a capital letters and full stops

Monday Maths: Combine two quantities together to find a total

You will need: a number line to 20

** Use the slideshow that goes with this lesson and find the total number of people in the carriages. Use your number line to help you and record your answers using part-part-whole.**

If you would like another activity then complete the additions number line sheet. If you don’t want to print it, then look at the addition and use your number line to find the answer then record your answer as a part-part-whole.

Can you be a superstar learner and use the maths star words today?

*part, plus, whole, is equal to, altogether *
