Lesson 1 - Tenths as decimals

Today, as you have been used to doing, you will first need to visit the White Rose website for the video slides, and worksheets. (I’ve also put the question sheet and answer sheet below.)

Don’t forget, you can watch, pause and rewind the video as you need to.






This week, we are going to base our work around this new short film I have found called 'The Wishgranter'. When I saw it, I really enjoyed it and like the other short films we have used in the past from Literacy Shed, knew you'd make some fantastic work from it.


I would like you to watch the 5 minute movie and just enjoy the story. Think about all the visitors of the wishing well and what it is they wish for. You could begin to think about what you might wish for or perhaps that thought already ran through your head as you were watching the film.


Then I would like you to log onto purple mash and click on your 2do's. You will have a 2do named 'What I would wish for'. I would like you to think about what you would wish for and write a piece about what you would wish for and why. You must give your reasons for your choice. Try to add as much detail as possible.


You could start your piece of writing with:

If I were only granted one wish, I would wish for....

We are still all spending a lot more time than we would normally on a computer. I’m sure a lot of us are also keeping in touch with friends and family on computers or screens and no doubt, we’re playing a few more games on-line than we normally would, too.


This is all okay and it can be a lot of fun, but we need to remember how to keep ourselves and others safe whilst using the internet.
