Arithmetic Test 5
Literacy - Narrative poems.
Today head to BBC Bitesize to finish our exploration of poetry. Today we focus on narrative poems.
Earlier in the year we read a narrative poem about the Willow Pattern. Today watch the videos. Follow the link to on activity 1 to listen to poets perform poems.
Then try and write your own narrative poem and email it to Year6@Overseal.derbyshire.sch.uk.
Your poem only needs to be 2 stanzas long or more.
Keep lines short.
Position your poem in the middle of the page.
Your poem could be about a memorable event you have experienced, like Michael Rosen's Chocolate cake, about something that you remember happening. If you cannot think of your own experience, base it on another story you do know like Treasure Island, Macbeth or The Firebird for example.
Black Lives Matter
Today we are going to think about diversity and inclusion. Our task is to create a poster featuring the acronym for Black Lives Matter (BLM) that you can collage to make their own unique poster to support the BLM movement. Try to think about and talk about with the adults around you about diversity and anti-racist choices and behaviour.
What is collage?
Collage is an art technique, whereby lots of different smaller pieces of paper are stuck together to make a new piece of art. A collage can be made by using small pieces of magazine, newspaper, ribbons, paint, paper, text or photographs and sticking them to the image.
i would love to see some photographs of your collages sent to year6@Overseal.derbyshire.sch.uk I could publish some on our website or put some up in school.
Print the document below or write your own big BLM to get started.
