Please can you choose a book and spend 10 minutes+ reading/sharing it with an adult or older sibling.

Listen and read along with ‘Everybunny Dance’. If you select ‘read along’, there is a lightbulb icon in the top right corner of each page. If you click on the light bulb there are questions for you to answer about the book. It will ask you to make some predictions.

Brain warm up: Warm up your brain by listening to the Phase 3 or 4 tricky words songs. Ask an adult to help you search on YouTube.

Phase 3 song: ‘Phase 3 tricky words song say hello to’

Phase 4 song: ‘Phase 4 Tricky Words Song Sight Words Song for said, have, like, come, some, what, when’

*Remember to take photographs of the tricky words and sing along too!*

Phase 4 learning: To help you learn Phase 4 Tricky words, you can choose to either play ‘Tricky Word Trucks’ on the Phonics play website or choose a page from the Tricky Words Activity Booklet.

Follow the link below to access the Oak Academy Lesson ‘Little Red Riding Hood Story Writing Part 2’

You will need a pencil, lined paper, your story map, paper and your teddy talk partner!

**Today, you will finish writing the story.**

You are becoming fantastic authors and we can’t wait to read your stories!

Things to remember to be a good writer:

  • Think about your letter formation (use letter families poster)
  • Are there any phase 3 digraphs/digraphs you can use in the words? (You could use your phase 3 sound mat)
  • Any longer words, remember to chop them up into parts to make it easier to sound out for writing

e.g. Gol-dee-locs

  • Finger spaces needed between each word
  • Remember to use capital letters for names e.g. Red
  • Full stop at the end of your sentences
  • *For more challenge, don’t use the word bank, sound out all the words yourself. Also you could try using some time words to order the events of the story e.g. Then, Next, After that.*

Maths: Investigating number combinations within 20

You will need number cards to 10 and 10 objects that are the same for counting (e.g. pennies, blocks or pasta).

** Pick a number card and see how many different ways you can show it using the objects. Try to record some of your ideas like the teacher did in the video**

Wellbeing Friday

Childline website has a ‘calm zone’ with lots of advice and suggestions for activities to support wellbeing. You could do Yoga, practice some breathing exercises or get creative. Choose an activity that your child will enjoy, and gain something from, and have fun doing it!

Here are a few suggestions, but please choose an activity that works for you and your family.

Stress Sock – Find an old sock and fill it with something soft. When you feel frustrated or annoyed, squeeze and release your sock to help you release some tension.

Build your happy place – This is a computer activity but you could draw your happy place or if you have an old cereal box at home you could make it. If you have a little bit of space then build a den/calm zone and chose some things to go inside that make you feel happy. Why have you chosen those things to go inside? Why are they special to you?
